AI Music Generators, scored on the same five dimensions
Music tools carry a complication the other categories don't: the output can be technically excellent and legally contested at the same time. So each tool here is measured on the usual instrument — blind-listen arena preference for audio quality, review-crowd aggregates, verified plan pricing, consumer-trust records — with the copyright-litigation status of the underlying model dated and sourced alongside the number, never buried.

Suno's V5.5 model ranks #1 on the Artificial Analysis Music Arena (vocals Elo 1156,
instrumental 1190), yet our composite is 60.0/100 (3.0/5), confidence LOW: a hard
trust gate for the category's worst billing record (two Trustpilot profiles near
1.6-1.7/5, n≈660) caps the score. Warner settled November 2025; UMG and Sony are
still suing as of July 2026.
Read the trust dimension before the quality one. The best-sounding model on this list also holds the category's heaviest billing-complaint record and an open major-label lawsuit, so a high arena rank and a low composite can describe the same tool honestly — which is exactly what the score gate is for.
Where these numbers come from
Capability is sourced from public output-quality arenas (blind pairwise votes), usability from review-crowd aggregates weighted by sample size, value from verified pricing, and safety & trust from indemnification terms plus consumer-trust records. Reliability requires a controlled benchmark run and is marked unmeasured until we run one. Full detail: methodology.
